The Fright Night remake has its Charley...

I hate taking backwater, especially over something like this. But, after reading the details of the remake of Fright Night, I can't help but be intrigued (if not a tad excited). Not only is one of the writers a staffer on "Mad Men", and the director the guy who did the underrated Lars and the Real Girl, but they've now cast Anton Yelchin as Charley Brewster.

For those of you who don't know him by name yet, you've seen him in some of the best movies of the past few years: he was the kidnapee in Alpha Dog, the title character in Charlie Bartlett, a young Kyle Reese in Terminator Salvation, and Chekov in Star Trek. In other words, a wide range of roles that he was great in, showing acting chops that make me believe in an Anton Yelchin Charley Brewster.

Now, if we could just get Johnny Galecki to play Evil Ed...
