I don't know what rock I've been hiding under, but, while perusing Game Informer's website, I found an article about a new Sonic the Hedgehog game. But not just any new Sonic game... SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 4!! A return to the classic side-scrolling gameplay of my youth, the story picks up where the original Genesis games left off.
This will be available as a download-only game (at first, anyway) through the Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, and WiiWare this Summer (the 360 and PS3 version will be in glorious 1080p HD). Needless to say, it'll be worth every bit of whatever price they decide to charge for it (which is usually cheap for a game of this sort).
